DOZI IMP

Dozi Imp; For the Disciple of Ritual Play

Dozi Imp explores totemic icons from the four corners, clashing play and protest to inspire radical identity. Designed for wild creatures and glamoured beings; Dozi Imp is instilled with the essence of the sacred feminine for ritual play and sacred dress-up. Dozi Imp traverses the divine power of gaudiness and glitter.

Intricate hand embroidery and ritual bells draw strength and all the encompassing energy of the femme. Deconstructing parochial notions of womanhood and inspiring theophany in the mundane.

Gender constructs blur into maximalist pattern, opening joy and mischief to all. Dozi Imp pieces vibrate high with shamanic energy chiming it’s way through the collection as ritual inspiration. Dozi Imp seeks to draw on the excitement of exploring dusty wardrobes, matriarchal vanity stands and hidden luxuries, bringing the inner child into the light.

Dozi Imp is made using traditional handwork by skilled artisans. All the materials used have been continuously thought about, from the Pinatex to replace leather, to the organic handwoven cotton that you can’t even see behind the embroideries. Dozi Imp uses micro mills to source fabric lengths for the garments, where waste yarns are used to reduce environmental impact. The looms are still powered by people, not machines. All this thought of materials helps to ensure that each piece is a unique art object.

As both functional objects and future heirlooms, each Dozi Imp piece in unique and personal to the disciple. Alongside our alter pieces a capsule collection of vestements and costumes offsets and uplifts the high decadence of the Dozi Imp.
