Marky Marc is an Irish clothing brand which was conceptualised by Irish designer/stylist Marc Neill. Marky has been creating garments for stage & screen since 2017. The inception of the brand itself came about in 2018 working on custom pieces and one off garments for clients. This led to Marky creating his first collection which was launched in 2020.
Marky began studying fashion straight out of school working as an intern for Irish bridal designer Una Rodden where he learned a lot of technical skills. He then pursued his fashion studies in Northern Ireland where he graduated with a BA in Fashion design with business.
The brands DNA has strong links with Marky’s background in the queer community, he has worked closely with the drag and trans community which has been a constant source of inspiration to the designer along with his passion for comic books and the “Femme Fatale” character. This is evident in the brands signature aesthetic which is often present as high glam, strong, sexy and hyper fem.
The brand also has a focus on sustainability through the sourcing of fabrics. Ensuring suppliers are locally producing the fabrics or if they are outsourced establishing that they are complying with all current labour laws. The brand also aims to have a zero wastage policy when it comes to scrap fabric by where they attempt to utilise in other projects.
Marky Marc has worked with the likes of Azealia Banks, Lady Gaga, Nikita Dragun, Little Mix & Mabel to name a few.
